This is the perfect size for an 8 year old. I was really worried about getting one too big or too small without being able to see and hold this before ordering it. I feel certain he will get a few good years of playing (or learning to play) on this guitar before we have to buy a larger one.
The quality on it is great as well. My husband already tuned it and played a few chords…I’m completely tone deaf, but he said it was great!

Very happy with this Dean PlayMate. I bought it for my 8 year old niece and it fit her perfectly. Great guitar for her. Just what she wanted. Great deal with Amazon.
